Do What You Love

Do you find joy in making a living? You can do what you love and make money doing it! For years I slaved at a job I hated until I started following the formula outlined in The Bright Future Workbook and now I love what I do!

So, how can you do what you love and make a living at it? The first step is to get clear on what you want out of the work you do. Write down all the aspects of a job, career or business that you desire. This article will focus on building a business in that area, although you may be happy to do what you love while working for someone else. I would complete a worksheet from Step 3 of The Bright Future Workbook (Rev G), using the back side, if necessary, to complete your list of all the qualities and feelings you will experience when you do what you love. Do you want independence in a job? Do you want to help people? Do you need to feel important? How many hours do you want to work? How much money do you want to make? Take some time on this one. Don't write what you don't want. Focus on the things, feelings and qualities you do want in a job or business.

Next, on a blank piece of paper, identify what your skills and interests are. What are you interested in? What are you passionate about? What do you have a lot of knowledge about? What do people come to you for answers about? If you had unlimited resources, what would you be doing with your time? Do you play or watch sports? Do you have pets? Do you collect anything? What do you love to learn about?

Now, narrow down your interests to the top 5 topics you're most excited about. Look at the list of qualities you want to have in a job, and pick the thing that would satisfy all of the qualities you listed in Step 1. The more passionate you are about a topic, the more likely you are to stick with it and succeed.

Once you have picked a topic for a new business, do some supply and demand analysis. That may sound a little intimidating, but I found a way to make that very easy. After I created the list in Step 1, I started imagining and dreaming about doing the work I love and my radar was up for opportunities. Soon after, I was excited to be introduced to a company that helped me create a website AND a business all using the same program and it included easy to use analysis tools. These days, if you're going to be in business, you need a website, and I found SBI to be an extremely valuable tool to do both. In addition to making website building very fun and easy, it also includes valuable tools and training for finding a niche market on the web and creating a presence on the internet. I highly recommend it if you're to build a new business or to create an invaluable web presence for your current business.

Whether it be in the area of money, relationships, or your finances, you want these things for the way they make you feel.
